Images of America AROUND THREE MILE BAY
by Elaine T Bock
Three Mile Bay, a hamlet located just below the Canadian border in the town of Lyme, was settled between 1810 and 1820. Early immigrants from Canada and Europe were drawn by the abundance of water-powered mills and factories along the area’s waterways. The Images of America series celebrates the history of neighborhoods, towns, and cities across the country. Using archival photographs, each title presents the distinctive stories from the past that shape the character of the community today.
